‘You need to see what goes on behind closed doors’

What’s up IOA?

First off, thanks for reaching out to me. I’m just now getting your letter…7 DAYS LATER!!

I can’t stand how this system treats us, it’s like they couldn’t care less about what goes on with us because they wear a badge and can go home at the end of the day. Some of these officers think they can say and do what they want because we wear orange. But we humans, too and we got rights as well. Continue reading

‘…more like Durham County Jungle…’

Peace and Love IOA!!!

I hope all is well with you all…peace and love to all the comrades as well!!! Durham County Jail, laugh my butt off more like, Durham County Jungle! You really want to know how is the food in here…Well, let me start by saying it’s some shit. Picture, left over gravy rice, mixed with broccoli, and baby apple sauce on the side. Potatoes that aren’t cooked. Fried chicken patties that are not fried. Fake ass hamburgers. Hot dogs, well hot dogs are so bad I can’t explain them. HOT DOGS SHOULDN’T BE THREE DIFFERENT COLORS! Living the struggle

Hello,

Well first let me say sorry it took this long to write you back. I’m doing ok, trying to hang in there. What about yourself? Man, it feels good to hear someone is out there who is trying to support the struggle we go through in here. Yeah, we finally came off lockback, but they took away our 9:00 pm (night) walk. And sometimes we get locked down for no reason and come out late, but they lock us back on time, smh. Yep, we still getting inedible food, d.o.’s still abusing and brutalizing us, and still getting denied medical treatment, and now our family can’t even send us stamps. But hope you’re doing ok, keep the letters and newsletters coming. Hope to hear from you soon.

Living the struggle,

A.N.

It seems if you’re an officer you can do whatever you want

I know you’re well aware this isn’t my style, but these ignorant sons-of-bitches tried me. At 7:10-7:15 on June 9 in pod 3Cw, officer Tralane Jackson began to antagonize, harass, and finally put his hands on me. When I proceeded to defend myself, officers then broke it up. I was afterwards written up and charges were taken out upon me for defending myself (charge is assault on government official/employee). Continue reading

‘If you don’t have canteen you will starve at night’

Hi,

Thanks for writing me, this is my first and only letter since Nov 31, and I’m in here for B & E larceny and probation violation. I didn’t do my charge, they just picked me up because I was at the wrong place the wrong time, plus I had old charges when I was 18 years old for B & E and they went off my prior record and thought I was back at it. But I was on probation and I had 2 jobs that I’d just started 3 days before I was locked up, so for that I couldn’t make bail because I had no money. But since I’ve been locked up the guards have been making the inmates feel like we are guilty of our charges. Continue reading

‘The professionalism here is at an all-time minimum’

3-8-16

I welcome all letters, info and visitations at all times that are available (permanently–T.K.)

Hello,

I’m Tony King and let me first start off by saying my name may be used in any positive form of light that helps contribute to the awareness of what I.O.A. stands for within its public and private affairs. I must admit I am far from a perfect person; however, I am a good person, a person that believes that right is right, and wrong is wrong. With that being said, let me also say I’ve read several feedbacks and agree with all of the accusations that others have made in regards to the Durham County Jail. Now I myself would like to shed some light on some of what my observations have come to see. Continue reading

‘Can’t keep writing because I’m low on cash’

Dear IOA,

First of all, I would like to thank you for your time and energy to write me, and also for the “feedback” newsletter. I’m overwhelmed to witness people like yourself and others who still care about us here in Durham County Hell. I’m also passing the newsletter around the pod and I can say that some of the guys are interested and wanted to share their story also. Continue reading

‘The judicial branch of government is made to recycle us’

3.7.16

I’m glad you put me in the newsfeed. I was shocked when I was going through the feedback and ran across my letter, but I was mad when I got to the end and saw the initials –. I don’t know what they stand for, but let me tell you something bro, I’m far from afraid of any sheriff, police officer, deputy or c.o. They bleed like I do so don’t ever hide my name in the feeds, bro, Thomas Clayton (TomTom) should be the first and last thing you see when you read a feedback from me. I want them to know I’m who coming for them. Continue reading

‘Boria has endangered the lives of everyone’

Re: Violations of Inmate Rights that has been protected by the Constitution and state law

We are respectfully reporting that officer Erick Boria has intentionally and willfully violated the unlawful and professional conduct at a workplace policy, which was put in place to form a more perfect union at a workplace, so we may secure the blessings of liberty and justice while waiting on the court process.

Officer Boria has violated the order by imposing vindictive retaliation, creating a hostile and unsafe environment that has put the inmates at high risk of losing complete control and failure to respond reasonably and respectable to perform his job description in a professional and suitable manner. These findings are as follows:  Continue reading
