‘Take Action’: 2 Poems by the Lion

Here I Stand!

Here I stand in the midst of utter darkness

Where the light never shines and hope never comes around.

Where the living dead roam feasting on each other’s ignorance,

Ando those who are not in a dead-man-walking state of mind, are also slowly killing themselves

Poisoning their body, flooding their mind with false hope and false light.

Here I stand amongst those content with their situation,

Those who have no profound vision for tomorrow.

Who would rather lay in poverty than attempt to change their dire conditions.

What can I do? Standing around such sorrow: “Nothing.” A voice spoke up. “Take action!”

Or
