Thank you for taking the time to write me back. All of the inmates here in medical pod 3C south appreciate your individual and the collective efforts put forth by Inside-Outside Alliance. We have not heard anything regarding the recent death of Matthew McCain. We were all shocked and saddened by the news. Our prayers go out to his family.
A little about myself. I feel like I’m the youngest person in the entire jail, yet I am 18 years old. I have been here for 10 months with no end in sight. It is very difficult for me because I was raised as a very caring person, but people in jail seem to have very different thoughts regarding consideration. But there are a few people who I’ve met here that are caring like me. There was an article in the January newsletter written by Christopher Mason. He was a good friend to me. He always made sure that I was not taken advantage of…
My experience with the jail: 1.) Guards–most of the guards are alright with one exception, c.o. Corbitt. She is very arrogant, lazy and prejudiced. Dare I say bigot. She is unprofessional and should not be employed. 2.) Food–everyone here is tired of bologna and the processed meat we are forced every dinner meal. I have basically stopped eating the dinner meal. Canteen food items are outrageously expensive designed to make money off hungry inmates. The markup seems to be 400-500% or more on individual food items.
I’ll write more soon. Thank you again!!!
