Dear —
How are you doing? I’m doing alright myself. I’m really glad to receive your letter, and quite surprised when you sent me those three fantasy books. I wasn’t really making a request, but I really appreciate that one can never have too many books. I just went to court today, but the judge refused to unsecure my bond because of my status, but they say they got all the discoveries, so hopefully I’ll go to the trial and be out in a few months. By the way, my lawyer is S. Tucker, I don’t know what’s going on between (another person) and his lawyer. His lawyer is apparently doing nothing, never come to visit him, and never show him any of the discoveries. Anyway, I’m in —. I’m sure you know Chris Clifton and maybe are still in contact with him. We were friends before he went to prison. He mentioned your name (I’m assuming you are the one and the same — from IOA he talked about) a few times. Remember when my pod got locked back November last year? He wrote a grievance and get people in the pod to sign it. I assume he sent it to IOA. Well, I put some of the stuff I draw in the letter he sent you (Monster University, a portrait of Edgar Allan Poe), I don’t know if you remember them, but I did see them printed in a feedback you all sent to the pod. I’m glad that you enjoy my handwriting. I guess I know my way around a pencil. Anyway, I totally agree, China is a state-capitalist society, and is in no way towards communism. It’s kinda funny that when I was in China, I wasn’t really interested in Chinese history and never felt proud of Chinese Culture, but now I got this terrible urge to read and learn absolutely anything about them. I began to see the beauty hidden between Chinese characters like I never did before. Anyway, I’m making a book request right now. I wonder if you can send me some magazines (National Geographic, Sports Illustrated) or some photo albums, in another word, stuff that got lots of picture in them or some drawing books so I can practice my skill. I’ll surely send some of them to you when I finish. I hope to hear from you soon. Take care!
Yours,
- V.
